My name is Sarah Ott. Thank you so much for your time in reading a little about me! I currently live in Hoboken with my husband and daughter after relocating from San Diego California. I am an ASHA Certified, and New York/New Jersey State Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist certified in the Social Thinking©Clinical Training Program Level 1A and have pursued ongoing education in: Mindfulness Techniques in Speech Therapy, Increasing Student Self Determination, Reducing Anxiety & Problem Behaviors in Sensory, Autism & ADHD, The Greenspan Floortime Approach, Strategies for Teaching Concrete Learners, & Strategies to Support Individuals with Behavioral Organization. In addition, I have pursued and completed certificates in Fostering Leadership Skills from the NeuroLeadership Institute and Foundations of Instruction of Social Emotional Learning and Character Development from the College of Saint Elizabeth and Rutgers.
I became extremely passionate about pursuing education and experience in growth mindset and mindfulness after witnessing the powerful impacts they had on the children and young adults I worked with in California. Becoming a mom increased my passion for self-care, meditation, and creative teaching. In all the work that I do, whether it be Speech Therapy or Coaching social competencies, relationship, & leadership development I aim to incorporate mindfulness techniques.
I truly believe that being able to better understand and express one’s own thoughts and feelings, and how these drive our actions is the first step to better understanding and collaborating with others. As people, we crave positive relationships with others. Children and adults should be able to feel confident in connecting with others, pursuing new interests, and recognizing their own strengths. I have found a true passion in working with elements of social emotional learning in my field and at home to help individuals of all ages better understand and participate in their worlds at school, home, and work.
Would you like to learn more about how to help your child develop not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well?
Would you like to learn ways to enhance your communication and/or relationship skills at home or at work?
Do you have speech, language, or social concerns, and you would like to know where to start?
I want to help others feel confident and fulfilled in whatever journey they are on. Stress does not have to be the constant state. You can gain support from others, but also from yourself! For more information on my services for parents and children please contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.

***I utilize Social Thinking© with clients spanning from pre-school aged children to adults in individual and group settings. Social Thinking is a teaching framework for individuals aged preschool through adult, created by Michelle Garcia Winner, CCC-SLP http://www.socialthinking.com/ It consists of a Social Thinking Vocabulary that establishes a common language to discuss social functioning, curriculum lessons, and strategies that break down social concepts into concrete, teachable formats. Social Thinking “explodes the social code” to help children and adults learn to be better social thinkers and communicators.
