To The EVERY Mom,
I don’t know you, but I do. I don’t know if you work full-time outside your home, or in your home. I don’t know if you have a nanny or use a daycare or have family that helps. I don’t know if you sleep train, or feed organic, or order take out. I don’t know if you have time for yourself, or drink wine and call it “Mommy Juice. I don’t know if you do date nights once a month, or dread taking your laundry out of the dryer to actually put it away.
I don’t know.
But here is what I do know.
I know that your heart is always in the right place. I know that a piece of it is constantly wondering around outside of your body. Making you immensely proud and scared, confident and insecure all at once.
I know that it’s hard. No matter what way you became a Mom or exist as a Mom. I know it’s work, always work. But, in some weird unexplainable way it’s the kind of work you relish waking up to do.
I know that you are strong. You do things that you may have thought you could never do. Not only do you do them, but you do so with endless energy, even when it doesn’t feel like it. It’s an energy that can really only come from the highest source there is. Love.
I know that you have changed. Physically, mentally, emotionally, and change can be so uncomfortable. You grew something, and with that something you grew too.
I know that you are being pulled. In a million different directions all day every day. Sometimes it feels like you can’t stretch anymore, and that’s ok.
I know that each morning you get up to lift others UP. Stepping out of bed and leading with LOVE.
I know that the laundry doesn’t care one bit that it hasn’t been folded and put away.
I know that you are THE best and doing your best. You are the perfect parent for your child, because the things you do, the time you spend, the hugs you give. It’s all an act of love. There is no greater act.
I know that you are brave, your child sees you that way. Cape and all. Make sure you do too.
I know that you are loved. So, loved and I’m honored to be in your company. The EVERY Mom.
